Big B extends veiled support to Anna

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan who is known for speaking his mind on burning issues on his blog and micro blogging site Twitter, has extended covert support to Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement.

In his latest tweet he extends his support for peaceful protests but in the same breath the Bollywood icon says law of the land must prevail.

@SrBachchan "No one wants corruption in society and governance. To protest peacefully our Constitutional right. The law of the land must prevail !" (sic), he tweeted.

On Friday night, Bachchan refrained from making any direct comment on social activist Anna Hazare or his hunger strike for a stronger Lokpal Bill. However, he did talk about democratic rights of Indian citizens.

"In a democracy, everyone has right to express his or her views. None of the countries across the world support corruption. If anyone wants to protest against corruption he has the right to do so. Everyone knows the law and order system of India. If one abides by it, then there is no problem," Bachchan said.

The megastar spoke at an event orgainsed by Force Motors which appointed him the brand ambassador of newly-launched sports utility vehicle Force One in Mumbai.
