Celina Jaitly shares a heartbreaking message for late dad: ‘Take me back before I met you, then leave’

Celina Jaitly has thanked ‘fathers and daughters’ across the globe for the love they have shown for her post in which she paid tribute to her late father.

Celina Jaitly has shared a heartbreaking message for her late father Colonel Vikram Kumar Jaitly. In her latest social media post, she also thanked fans and media for sharing her previous letter to her late dad she wrote and shared online. ()

In her new tweet, Celina wrote, "If I had the chance to say one last thing to my father I’d say : Take me back to where I was before I met you, then leave…. REACHING 50 MILLION HEARTS ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS Day before yesterday I posted a note with a heavy heart for my departed soldier dad Colonel Vikram Kumar Jaitly,(SM) on Twitter."

She added that fathers and daughters across the globe were moved to tears with her note, and they even wept with her and honoured her father. "Above all fathers from around the world reached out to me with moist eyes & heavy hearts. I am so overwhelmed with gratitude. When I wrote this note I was very heavy-hearted as I could no longer smell my dad's perfume in his uniform or his shirts anymore, his medals of gallantry lay silently in a box at home in Army war college in Mhow. He is gone and all that is left is untold stories of his love & valour. Our nation owes a debt to every man & woman who served in the military, not just when they are in the battlefield but for the difficult lives they must live in service of our great nation," she added.

The actor also thanked army officers for sharing anecdotes about her dad and also extended special thanks to the media and people from Bangladesh who shared notes of gratitude for her father. Celina's father had fought in the 1971 Indo-Pak (Bangladesh Liberation) war.

Celina further wrote, "I couldn’t ask for a better honour for my father's memories & valour than this. Thank you so much for your love. If my father was alive he would say only one thing: “If you want to honour a soldier be a citizen worth dying for ."

In her previous letter to her father, Celina wrote, “Dear Dad, There’s a city in my heart where you are the only population!” She also said that she looked very much like her father, adding that he always served the nation “but never once did he give up on his duty as a father”. She also added, "Being his daughter is probably because I did something good in a past life. In every lifetime I hope he is my father again…. Thank you Dad…Woke up thinking about you… Missing you."
