Colin Firth’s royal honour

Actor Colin Firth has been anointed with the title Commander of the British Empire CBE in the Queen’s birthday honours. Firth, who won the Oscar and Bafta for playing King George VI.

Actor Colin Firth has been anointed with the title Commander of the British Empire CBE in the Queen’s birthday honours. Firth, who won the Oscar and Bafta for playing King George VI in the King’s Speech, was recognised for his services to drama, reports the BBC. The title came 16 years after the actor achieved the heartthrob status as Jane Austin’s brooding hero, Mr Darcy, in the film Pride And Prejudice.
