Dholakia's not in the mood for comedy

After Parzania, director Rahul Dholakia is all set to launch two projects, one on Kashmir and the second on politicising religion.Vajir Singh tells more.

It's been nearly three months till his movie sparked a controversy over it's "ban" in Gujarat.

After Parzania based on the Ahmedabad riots, director Rahul Dholakia now plans to make two films – one on the troubled region of Jammu and Kashmir and the second on politicising religion.

News is that Dholakia will start the film based on Kashmir first with Sanjay Dutt in the lead. Producer Bunty Walia has already had a word with Sanjay. The actor has liked the basic idea, says the director.

He is expected to leave for Kashmir shortly to study the current scenario there.

"It would be foolish to make a film on terrorism in Kashmir. That's been done to death. So, I will study the situation and then weave a fictional story," he says.

The film will focus on people with multiple identities and will be devoid of songs.

The other film, Navratri, will focus on the use and misuse of religion.

"It's a contemporary subject which I intend to film in a commercial way Dholakia ," states.

What about his plans to make a comedy film?

"May be in the future," he replies. "Once I'm through with these projects, may be. Right now, I don't feel like laughing."
