He can tell the Indian curries apart, and he loves samosas. And South African President Jacob Zuma won over the guests with this admission at a reception held in his honour at the Taj Palace Hotel.

The event was hosted by the South Africa High Commission and those who attended it included Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs MS Gill, Indian Olympic Association president Suresh Kalmadi, emcee Shivani Wazir Pasrich, All India Congress Committee secretary Alka Lamba and former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala.

President Zuma also met with the six winners of the FIFA flag bearer contest, organised by Adidas and HT, on the occasion. The winners will get to go to South Africa for the FIFA world cup.

President’s platter

President Zuma and his wife Nompumelelo Zuma stayed at the Grand Presidential suite at Taj Palace, where spectacular flower arrangement had been done using ginger lillies and lotuses. The First Lady also tried out the massages in her room. The Prez requested for rooibos tea with honey and sliced lemon, fruit platters, boiled spinach without cream. He also had idli, masala dosa, masala uttapam and aloo parantha for breakfast.
