“I love India and Anoushka. We are planning to spend a lot more time there in the near future. I miss it, and I know Anoushka does too,” says Wright, currently based in London.
“I’m working on some ideas that would allow us to spend more time in India. I think it’s important for our son (Zubin) to have a close relationship with his mother’s culture.”
Known for directing dramas such as Pride & Prejudice and Atonement, Wright’s debut action thriller Hanna hit Indian screens last Friday. “I’ve taken more risks with this film and really pushed my craft,” he says.
Wright, who’s directing Anna Karenina with actor Keira Knightley next, says he’s shocked by the portrayal of women onscreen. “I’m slightly appalled by the way Western society and media portrays young women, teenage girls. There’s reason for concern there,” he says.
