Madonna has been sued over her dance megahit Vogue, as she never paid to make the song, it has been claimed.
Record company VMG Salsoul filed the lawsuit against the pop diva in LA, claiming that the singer had sampled the horns and strings from Salsoul Orchestra’s 1977 dance song Chicago Bus Stop (Ooh, I Love It), TMZ.com reported.
According to the lawsuit, the 53-year-old singer had never paid to use the samples -- and had illegally profited off the instrumentals since she released the track in 1990. The company has claimed that the samples aren’t obvious, and were only recently detected thanks to a new technology that could help isolate and identify individual sounds.
VMG Salsoul is now suing for copyright infringement, demanding unspecified damages.
