Mumbai only looks forward to IPL

Shakira and FIFA make it to the top 10 lists in the Google Zeitgeist 2010, Bollywood is totally ignored.

Mumbai gave Bollywood a miss in the Google Zeitgeist 2010. Not one actor, film or song made it to the top ten list, as the city chose to focus on the IPL. Cricket scores, Shakira and even football is what the netizens of India’s film capital prefer. Proving their tech-conscious ways, YouTube, mobiles and online applications too, made it to the top.

Incidentally, technology also made it to the all India ‘Most Popular’ list, as online railway bookings (IRCTC) surfaced as the most searched topic. Some of the newer entries this year are Micromax and Samsung mobiles. Social networking sites like Facebook, Orkut and Twitter; and even the FIFA World Cup showed that netizens enjoy keeping in touch

with each other.

Also, Internet was the online community’s new counsellor, as many turned to the web with queries on ‘how to get pregnant’, ‘how to kiss’, ‘how to impress a girl’, ‘how to make money’ and even ‘how to tie a tie’.
