US President Barack Obama joked about his diminished approval ratings at the annual White House Correspondents dinner held on Saturday. “It’s been quite a year since I’ve spoken here last. Lots of ups, lots of downs, except for my approval ratings, which have just gone down,” he said.
He also poked fun on those who claim he isn’t a native of the US. “But that’s politics. It doesn’t bother me. Besides, I happen to know that my approval ratings are still very high in the country of my birth,” he joked. Hollywood stars present at the gala included actors Michael Douglas, Scarlett Johansson and Queen Latifah, filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Oliver Stone, teen pop sensation Justin Bieber and Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman.
