This has led Salman’s fans to rally behind the actor on social networking sites. A twitter hashtag #IStandBySalman, was created by his followers, which got a huge response, immediately.

User Hashemi_B tweeted, “@BeingSalmanKhan if your world shatters, mine, and a million others’ worlds will shatter. But let us be positive and support you always, love u. (sic)”

Another fan, @Abhijit_19, wrote, “My life is meaningless, I wish I could save @Beingsalmankhan in lieu of my life. (sic)”

Meanwhile, industry insiders feel there is no need to panic. “He has not gone to jail yet. Please don’t panic,” says trade analyst Amod Mehra.
