The couple were photographed by a fan as they enjoyed a date at a coffeehouse in Swift's native Nashville, just two days after spending Thanksgiving together in New York, reported People magazine.
"They were smiling and laughing. They were talking a lot and enjoying each other's company. They didn't look like just friends," fellow diner Elaina Mishu told the magazine.
The 20-year-old 'Love Story' hitmaker wrapped up warm in a patterned blue hat and sweater as the couple queued alongside everyone else for their coffee.
Swift and Gyllenhaal, 29, were first rumoured to be dating back in late October and have been seen together several times since then.
Last Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, they went out for coffee in the Brooklyn neighbourhood of New York, just round the corner from where Gyllenhaal's sister Maggie Gyllenhaal lives.
Last month Swift side-stepped questions from talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres about the budding romance, saying she was "always optimistic about love...always, sometimes." She has previously dated stars including John Mayer and 'Twilight' star Taylor Lautner, while Gyllenhaal ended his four-year relationship with actress Reese Witherspoon last year.
