Lock Upp: Sara Khan asks ex-husband Ali Mercchant to not talk about their past on the show: ‘12 saal ho gaye…’

Television actor Ali Mercchant came as the 14th contestant of Lock Upp. Ali's ex-wife Sara Khan is also a part of the show.

Lock Upp contestant Sara Khan's ex-husband Ali Mercchant entered the show on Sunday. Ali and Sara became the first couple to get married on a reality show after they tied the knot in Bigg Boss season 4 in 2010. In a new clip shared by ALTBalaji from the upcoming episode of Lock Upp, Ali and Sara are spotted having a conversation about their past life. At one point Ali tells Sara that he didn't came to the show because of her. (

In a promo clip shared by ALTBalaji, Sara and Ali are seen having a discussion about the latter's entry on the show. Ali says, “Barah saal ho gaye (It's been 12 years now). I have a lot of respect for you because you are my ex.” Sara replies, “If you don't talk about outside, it will be better. So let's just start from here, where we are and let's just stop from where we ended. And let's not get into what happened with me or what happened with you.”

Ali then adds, “Main aisa insaan nahi hun jo kisi ko gira ke apne ko uper le aaun (I am not one of those who'd pull down other people to go up). Sara replies, “Na mujhe girana hai aapko (Even I don't want to pull you down)." She then says that she knew that Ali was joining the show. Ali replies by saying, “Aisa matt socho ki main tuhari wajah se yahan aaya hun. Mujhe farak nahi padta (Don't think that I am here because of you. I don't care).”

Sara and Ali entered the reality show Bigg Boss 4 together in 2010 and got married on air after Ali proposed to Sara. The two separated after two months. At that time, it was said that the duo was paid a sum of ₹50 Lakh to get married in the Bigg Boss' house, but the channel denied it.

Talking about her separation, Sara had told DNA, “My marriage turned out to be a nightmare. I am deeply hurt by his behaviour. I gave him a thousand chances before I called off the relationship. But now we are separate and I believe in the saying that all that happens, happens for good. I don’t want to look back. I want to look forward to doing better work than before.”
