Bollywood actors are now turning designers. While some are designing their look in films, others will come up with their own fashion line.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, 37
Ash is planning to launch her fashion line by getting into a partnership with a Europe-based brand. She had earlier been approached by 15 international brands. The actor was thinking on these lines for a decade but had kept the plan on the backburner till now. “I have a multiple connected idea and it’s something I will definitely get into,” she says. Aishwarya is quite conscious about the clothes she wears and also participates in choosing the outfit. “Ash is very particular about what clothes to wear and has an active fashion sense. So, she will surely succeed as a designer,” says a source.

Preity Zinta, 36
Preity is designing a costume for her first home production, Ishq In Paris, along with designer Surily Goel. The actor’s costumes in the film will be on the lines of Audrey Hepburn’s look in the iconic film Breakfast At Tiffany’s. The dress in question will also be much like what Hepburn wore in the film — chic, complete with a hat and jewellry. Priety is very particular about her look in Ishq In Paris because the film is reportedly based on the fashion industry of Paris. However, the actor also plans to launch a fashion line soon. “Yes, I am thinking of launching a fashion line. Hopefully, it will all work out soon,” says Preity.

Kangna Ranaut, 24
Kangna has had plans to launch her own fashion line since she starred in the film Fashion. She was inspired from her interaction with designers during that film. The actor’s enthusiasm even made her design her own dresses for the upcoming films Tez and Rascals. Kangna’s fashion diva status also got her a call from Paris Hilton’s office, who wanted the actor to be the Asia ambassador of her brand. Kangna does plans to turn a full-fledged designer later on. “I may start this business in future. I want to concentrate on acting right now,” she says.

Kareena Kapoor, 30
Bebo has plans to launch her own fashion line in collaboration with an international fashion house. The actor will also cut down work to concentrate on her business plans. “My business plans include launching my international fashion line in a big way,” she says. However, she is not ready to reveal the name as she wants to announce it at the “right time”. According to sources, the announcement may happen sometime next year.

Katrina Kaif, 27
Not many know that actor Katrina Kaif had shopped for her look in the upcoming film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan with designer Rocky S. After she got a thumbs up for her rock chic look in this particular film, Kat felt prepared to design her clothes by herself. She has even requested the Chopras to let her design for her film opposite Shah Rukh Khan that is going to be directed by Yash Chopra. “I was always interested in designing. I would have probably been a designer by profession,” Katrina says.
