Day 1 at Delhi Fashion Week was marked by very mixed hues of style, metallic luster and subtle hues.

Abhijit Khanna's collection was high on bling and metallic luster, the show opened with a model wearing a short dress in golden and peacock green.

The idea (very business oriented) of the collection was to present western outfits in Indian colours and embellishments.

The collection saw tunic, short dresses, gowns, harem pants, tunics with shrugs and heavily embellished jackets in colours of pink with cigarette pants in bright yellows.

Abhijit colour palate had many regal Indian colours like peacock greens, persian blues, turquoise blues, oranges, pinks and whites and beiges.

Whereas Vineet Bahl's showing saw lighter hues like beige and white. The collection had short dresses, gowns, tunics, sarees with bright low cut blouses. Vineet used fluid fabrics like chiffon and georgette.

The prints, cut work on sarees and the interesting embroidery done on the outfits gave a very soft look.

The colours were ranging from charcoal grays to beige, brown to blues.
