Sexy, toned backs were on show at a high glam magazine event in the Capital on Tuesday night. In a nod to the end of winter, fashionistas bared their backs in everything from sexy cholis to western dresses with cutouts at the function at LAP Garden.

Fashion designers say backless is the way to go this party season. “Knotted cholis will be the hottest trend,” says designer Ritu Kumar. “Cut outs are big this season,” says designer Jattinn Kochhar.
Designer Manju Grover says there’s a lot you can do with a backless dress. “You can attach beads, strings and colourful straps. A toned back is always an asset to show off. In sari blouses too, low and well cut cholis will rule.” The trend is not for everyone, though. “In India, women wear backless with hairy backs and that looks awful,” says Kochhar. Designer Anjalee Kapoor says, “Those with bulges and love handles should stay away from backless dresses.”
