Move over Christmas sweaters. A new entrant has taken over Christmas festivities and it’s got everything to do with how you look. Adorning your eyes with pretty makeup and glitter is passé, and tinselling it up is the new
in-thing for Christmas. Vloggers and beauty bloggers have taken to Instagram and YouTube to demonstrate how to get #ChristmasEyebrows (yes, that’s the term) on point.

Reportedly popularised by YouTuber Taylor R, the trend has been picked up by others too. Who are coming up with their own renditions. Bold, cute and all things representative of the festival can be recreated in the space of two eyebrows. While the drama has drawn flak from some, the trend is catching up. The trend has broken gender norms, and has been picked up by men, too. And if you, too, are in the mood to spread some festive cheer, then do try your hands on it.

1) Use clear mascara to paint your brows, or, use eyebrow glue to get the effect.

2) Separate the brows down the middle while the mascara is still wet. Twist-in little tufts to resemble branches of a Christmas tree.

3) When the mascara/glue sets, fix gems and star stick-ons. Add glitter via loose powder.

4) For more drama, use highlighters to sculpt and cotton to add the snow effect.

5) Play with lashes. Add green mascara and faux lashes for volume. Dust with glitter.

6) Boys, don’t be afraid to experiment, too. Pick your favourite Christmas motifs and have fun with eyebrow art.

YouTube has a lot on offer when it comes to channelling your creativity. Just make sure you have all that you need handy before you get set to experiment.

Also, make sure you use products that you have patch-tested on your skin so that the festivities don’t ruin your skin.

For the more adventurous with a creative streak, here are some posts with painted eyebrows, depicting scenes from famous Christmas stories, and the general paraphernalia surrounding the festival.
