Colour riot: Get at taste of Rajasthan at WIFW

Himmat Singh, the city based designer is all set to flaunt his collections at the well known Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. His designs will have a touch of Rajasthani heritage like Phad paintings and hand block prints.

Himmat Singh, the city based designer, has joined the bandwagon of designers who will flaunt their collections at the well known Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

Singh is all to ecstatic and excited to showcase his collection at the upcoming fashion week 2014, which is scheduled to be held in New Delhi between October 8-12. Singh who is known for his men's collection, will also for the first time launch the women's collection.

The contemporary woman looks for style, elegance, and comfort.

"My idea of dressing the modern woman is to give her the rich culture of our state, something that is a blend of modernity and traditions. One will find everything from reversible jackets, sherwani, coats, bandhgala, shirts, trousers, pocket blazers et el in my collection," says Singh.

He further shared that the pocket blazers could gel excellently well with sarees, suits, and kurtis.

Explaining why his collection has a lot of Rajasthan touch in it, Singh said, "The idea is certainly to flaunt Rajasthan heritage in my collection. We are a rich repository of amazing art and craftsmanship, and thus I decided to stick to having a traditional stamp on my collection, which is unique and throughly trendy."

Speaking about the fabric and the work used for his collection, Singh said, "Apart from Rajasthan works like Phad paintings and hand block prints, I have also used the Kantha work of West Bengal. I have used fabrics like silk, velvet, linen and brocade, for my ensembles.
