Deepika Padukone’s afterparty look will make you forget her Met Gala dress

Deepika Padukone doesn’t hesitate to repeat the outfits she loves. The actor proved she isn’t afraid to break out of an old outfit, when she recycled her velvet dress from January 2018 at a Met Gala after-party on Monday. Scroll for pictures.
When Monday’s Met Gala ended, the stunning looks didn’t stop. After actors Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra graced us with eye-catching ensembles, they switched into new outfits.
While so many A-listers were hitting up the various after-parties, including Priyanka in her black two-piece with gold print from Alberta Ferretti, matching Judith Leiber mini-bag and Christian Louboutin heels, we saw Deepika’s jaw-dropping look that was hard to ignore. You’ll first want to see it here.
If you got a sense of sartorial deja vu upon seeing the super luxe golden dress Deepika wore at the Met Gala after-party, you would be correct and 100% fashion-Alzheimer’s free.
What do you wear to an after-party after the famed Met Gala? Well, if you’re Deepika, you just throw on a belted velvet Sandro Paris dress that you happened to also wear at a star-studded birthday party at Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat in January 2018. US model Chrissy Teigen had rocked the same golden dress, sans pants and with thigh-high boots, in October 2017.
The Padmaavat star — who rocked a draped Prabal Gurung gown at the Met Gala 2018 red carpet — was spotted celebrating alongside the designer at an after-party, wearing the same robe-style dress featuring a plunging neckline, button front and piped edges.
Of course, Deepika did recycle her shiny dress smartly, swapping her Topshop ripped denim, over-sized gold hoops, ankle-strap Charlotte Olympia heels and centre-parted low ponytail with black skinny pants and matching black Tom Ford handbag and sleek black pumps. Deepika made her loose-fit dress sexy by way of her soft make-up — a shiny baby pink lip, shimmering cheekbones, barely-there eye-liner and full-brows. Her wet-looking slicked-back hair elevated her sultry look.
With that Deepika has become the most relatable un-relatable outfit-repeater in the world. However, neither Deepika, nor her stylist Shaleena Nathani, have commented on why the actor, who has access to arguably every designer label’s creations at her fingertips, repeated the outfit. But we kind of love that she loved her look so much — who doesn’t love that much shine. So who cares? The next time you’re going out with your friends, take a page out of Deepika’s book and repeat your designer outfit like a boss. Or just your pretty branded jumpsuit.
