‘Titanic’ star Leonardo DiCaprio posed in chilly conditions in southeast Iceland during a photo-shoot for Vanity Fair magazine’s upcoming Green issue. The cover page of the magazine will show DiCaprio with a polar bear cub, Knut, who will be digitally added to the actor’s snap.

The three-and-a-half month old bear’s snaps were clicked by photographer Annie Liebovitz at the Berlin Zoo in Germany. Vanity Fair’s special issue aims at encouraging readers to take needful steps to ward off ecological problems.

According to Justjared, Knut has now become a powerful symbol for polar bears who face the risk of extinction due to global warming.

The magazine’s Green issue will also feature Robert Redford and former Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who are also known as celebrity environmental warriors.
