Is Abhishek going white? Well, with his clothes, we mean. First Cannes, now Delhi, Bachchan Jr seems to have taken to the pristine colour with a vengeance.

In town to attend two events — the Louis Vuitton store’s first anniversary and fashion glossy L’Officiel’s 7th — he wore a double-breasted white jacket by the English label Blak Wren and blue jeans. Did the outfit work, or did it make the superstar look too much like a cook, chef, er... waiter?

We quizzed experts. “It looks like a waiter’s coat, but because of the person wearing it, it looks like a style statement,” says designer Abhijeet Khanna. He feels that “the only thing perhaps going right with the coat is it’s fit — it’s prefect”. Designer Abhishek Gupta agrees: “It does remind one of a chef’s jacket.” He adds, “It’s a cool jacket but something is not right.” He suggests wearing such jackets with trendy string pants, not jeans. “And the buttons are an eyesore.”

Designer Alecca Carrano states: “I wouldn’t let my man walk out in that jacket. If he had to wear it, then definitely unbuttoned... and the buttons dyed navy blue!”
