With Valentine’s Day coming up, men have started looking deeper into the mirror. After all, wooing a girl requires that ‘extra’ effort, and what could be better than flaunting the latest look.

Manly tresses

One of the biggest hair trends for 2010 is the fearless rocker look. "It’s tousled and textured into all manner of shapes and styles. Men can go in for a variety of lengths so that they are able to play with the look to suit their face shape," says Nikhil Sharma, Sebastian Professional design artist, Affinity Salons.

"Taking into consideration the lifestyle conditioning is very important. Regular trimming is recommended every five to six weeks," says Rod Anker of Kimrobinson Salon.

Sharma says, "For a casual look, try textured hairstyle. For men looking for a professional look, a tailored finish can be done."

Get the textured look

"Gel is not in fashion. The look that everyone is going for globally is the dried textured look, which one can achieve using clay products," says Anker.

And age doesn’t have to be a deciding factor for choosing a hairstyle. "We’ve the tools to provide versatile, fearless styling," says Sharma.

Get the rocker look:
Blow-dry hair with a diffuser or let it air-dry
When it is about 70 per cent dry, scrunch any good quality clay product into hair to enhance, define and control curly texture
Add more to dry hair until satisfied with look
