If you’re seeing a lot of celebrities in plunging necklines and cleavage-revealing dresses these days, take note as it’s a summer thing to show chiselled clavicles and toned cleavages. But is wearing any deep neck outfit enough to make heads turn? No, say the experts. “When wearing a deep neck top and dress, more than the design of the outfit, one needs to make the cleavage appear attractive and hot. If you’re going for a party, apply some shimmer; in case of a beach destination, apply bronzers. Also, wear a well-fitted bra,” says fashion stylist Geeta Shah.
Get a perfect cleavage
Last month, the curvy TV presenter, Holly Willoughby, was given the Best Celebrity Cleavage title. Closer home, actors Bipasha Basu, Malaika Arora Khan and Kangna Ranaut are also known for their sexy cleavages.
Once you’ve got the right pair of bra for yourself, it’s time for some grooming. Beauty expert Richa Aggarwal says, “Get rid off those unwanted hair; it’s a basic requirement. Waxing also helps in de-tanning and exfoliation. Applying a face bleach for about 10-15 minutes can also whiten the cleavage hair. To remove the flaky and dead skin from the cleavage area, massage the area with a seasonal fruit scrub, papaya scrubbing or aloe vera mixed with oats. Choker and sea salt can deal with the most severe problem of white heads and other dirt on the skin. After scrubbing, wash off the area with raw milk to further clean, de-tan and moisturise your skin. For a very dry skin, use brown sugar, which is known to be one of the best exfoliating ingredients. Take brown sugar, raspberry seeds or papaya and scrub it.”
Glam up with makeup
Apply bronzing and illuminating products to highlight the clavicle zones is first way to glamming up your cleavage. “Apply a dab of concealer on minor flaws, such as blemishes, scars, or dark spots. Blend in well to camouflage these areas with the natural skin tone. Then apply bronzing body oil all over. Next, apply a matte bronzer in the center of the cleavage working inwards. Apply some bronzer underneath the collar bone to add depth and definition. Now, using a brush apply a powder illuminator in T-shape, starting at the collar bone and going down to the center of the cleavage. Choose your bronzers and illuminators that don’t make you appear too light or dark,” says Nikita Sharma, makeup expert from The Body Shop.
Right way to highlight your cleavage
For a great cleavage, it is not necessary to use a bronzer. Your regular blush is a great alternative to get similar results. “Apply a light-coloured or nude colour blush and add shimmer for a shiny cleavage.Choose blush and shimmer according to the colour of the dress you are wearing. Silver dust suits white, black, shades of blue and pink, while gold dazzles with yellow, orange and red shades,” says beauty expert Simmi Ghai.
