We get the fashionistas of Delhi’s party circuit to reveal their mantra of summer party dressing.

Sonalika Sahay: In summer, I think there’s nothing better than cotton and other organic fabrics. The silhouettes need to be easy and flowy. As far as dressing for the evening is concerned, I go for silhouettes which are more constructive. Being comfortable is the key.

Rina Dhaka: For day parties in summer, I love to go for cool and comfy clothes in fabrics like cotton. It’s the best time to take out whites, bare shoulders and wear short floral dresses. Even wearing shorts with interesting tops or going for chiffon saris is a great idea.

Mandira Wirk: In summer, I vouch for whites. For day parties, I would opt for a panelled palazzo with a nice cowl top because that would be easy to carry. I’d team it up with pop colour accessories. I also like going for bright jumpsuits or rompers, as they look chic and casual. A kaftan in botanical print would look chic for evenings. "

Nida Mahmood: A nice cotton breezy dress is my best bet for a summer day party, that too in stripes, as they are in vogue. For an evening outing, I would stick to light weight ikat pants and a nice top with a waist coat, as it’s easy to handle. You can accentuate the look with bright accessories.

Noyonika Chatterjee: I prefer light colour clothes in summers and choose fabrics that are breezy. No silks for me. I love wearing dresses that are flowy and comfortable and not too tight.

Indrani Dasgupta: In a summer like ours, I’m quite partial to fabrics that breathe. While during the day it’s mostly whites and creams, in the evenings, I prefer going for black!
