It’s raining stars at fashion weeks

Deepika Padukone and Shilpa Shetty will walk the ramp at fashion week, reports Minakshi Saini and Princy Jain.

One of the top models in India before she became a film actress, Deepika Padukone leads the Bollywood charge in the Delhi fashion weeks. She will walk the runway for designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil’s Fiama Di Wills collection on Day 2 of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, which starts tomorrow.

The other big attraction is Shilpa Shetty, who appears on Tarun Tahiliani’s show today. She recently wore a Rs 2.5-crore dress at a Tahiliani show.

Boxer Vijender Singh models at the Delhi Fashion Week for Rohit Bal, whose Singh is Kinng sherwani he wore at a fashion event a few weeks ago. Actor Shahid Kapur is expected to hit the ramp on Day 4 of WLIFW for Vikram Phadnis.

Director Madhur Bhandarkar, whose Fashion has a lot of pre-release buzz around it, is to make an appearance here and also launch a book on fashion, a source says. However, he is “apprehensive” as he feels that “the fashion fraternity has negative preconceived notions” about his film, adds the source.

Among other Bollywood babes are Shweta Salve, to model for Nisha Merchant; Chitrangada Singh for Anita Dongre; and the Sen sisters — Riya and Raima — for Varun Bahl.
