After Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, now Jaipur makes a debut as a hub for a fashion week with the Blenders Pride Jaipur International Fashion Week, featuring designers like Puneet Nanda, Ashima and Leena, Gunjan and Rahul, Charu Parashar among others.

The show will witness nearly 30 designers, divided into - five new designers who will debut the ramp in the 'New Designers' category, 10 'Emerging Designers', three international designers and 10 established Indian designers.

"The location Jaipur is a debut initiative whose theme is 'Royal'. The designers have been chosen on specific ground level similarity which is that they have something common to do with the region. Either they hail from that state or their collection is inspired from that region," Storm Fashion Company CEO Gaurav Sharma told IANS.

Noting the differences, he said the show will feature a couple of international designers also who will be showcasing their creative quotient. "And it is a custom made programme with Rajasthan in the backdrop," he added.

Actress Anjana Sukhani, who has been chosen as the brand ambassador for BPJIFW, told IANS she hopes that the state's deep-rooted culture would get focus at the fashion week.

"I'm hoping to put Rajasthan culture, tradition and designs on the national map. This is a small initiative towards the big picture. Now is the time when we organisers and management will sit under one roof and scratch our heads how to bring out the extraordinary from the existing rich culture that our country is full of," said Anjana, draped in a bright yellow saree embedded with Swarovski crystals.

"It's going to have a lot of importance as we have 30 designers and I'm hoping that at least some of them will bring out our deep rooted culture in limelight which is still hidden or has not been explored," she added.

BPJIFW Festive Winter' 10 will be held from September 15 to September 19 at Hotel Clarks Amer, Jaipur.
