Fashion favourite and actor Kangna Ranaut insists she’s earned her style credentials. The actor reveals the kind of wardrobe she’d like on her big day even as she searches for the right guy, offers advice to fashionably challenged.

Fashion favourite and actor Kangna Ranaut insists she’s earned her style credentials. “I usually pick my own clothes. For my films, I work with a stylist or the designer. But it's a collaborative effort,” she says.

Currently the face of the Aamby Valley Bridal Fashion Week, the young actor says the concept intrigued her. “I felt it was an interesting concept. Since bridal wear was getting this grand platform, I decided to go ahead,” she says.

Ask whether being surrounded by bridal wear makes her think about what she’d like to wear to her own wedding, and Kangna says, “Who knows! If I marry a Christian, I might wear a gown, a sharara if it’s a Muslim guy or a sari if he’s an Indian. I'd like to find the guy first, then figure out the clothes.”

The actor was also reported to be starting a personal clothing line, but ask her about it and she’s non-committal, saying, “There’s been a lot of talk on a lot of things around me. I’m a creative person, and people often ask me what I would be if I weren’t an actor. I think I might have been a designer, or a make-up artist. I'm only 24 and have a lot of films on my plate to focus on. Who knows, maybe in the future.”

Usually found on the right side of the fashion police line-up, Kangna offers the less fortunate styling advice: “Know your assets, and what works for you. Something that looks great on one person may not work for another. If it’s your wedding, it’s obviously a big day for you, so spend time trying on different looks and finding what makes you feel beautiful and comfortable.”
