Meghan Markle wore a $7,000 ( ₹3,53,236) maxi dress to Prince Harry’s cousin’s wedding, and not everyone is a fan of the pricey garment. Here’s how Twitter is mocking the Duchess of Sussex’s latest look.

Meghan Markle is proving her style isn’t just sleek. On Saturday, the Duchess of Sussex attended a family wedding in Lincolnshire, England, wearing a blue-and-white floral dress that social media said looked too big for svelte Meghan, 36.

In a series of jeering tweets, Twitter users described Meghan’s £3,922 ( ₹3,53,236) long-sleeved cocktail dress by Oscar de la Renta as “floaty,” “loose” and “luxe bohemian.”

Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry wore a suit and blue tie to complement Meghan’s summery dress at his cousin Celia McCorquodale’s wedding to George Woodhouse at a small church on Saturday.

Meghan’s dress was an unexpected choice given the more streamlined styles she’s been seen wearing recently. Yet the former Suits actor looked undeniably stunning, serving up the ultimate boho-chic wedding guest style inspo. Her dress had an asymmetrical ruffled hem — higher in the front — plus a wrap-style top and too-long billowing sleeves. She accessorised with a creamy fascinator and creamy sky-high Aquazzura stilettos.

People have been quick to question Meghan’s style, commenting on how baggy and ill-fitting the dress seemed — similar to the opinion many voiced on her Givenchy wedding gown. Critical tweets focused on how loose it looked on her. Some suggested she needs a new dressmaker; others wondered if she had lost weight.

Even the media was divided: While Meghan’s wedding outfit was “dull,” sniffed The Daily Mail, Harper’s Bazaar said it was “flawless”.

As several royal fans were quick to comment about the fit of her dress, two people went as far as to compare her expensive frock to a bedsheet and curtains.
