Sandra Bullock leads the pack as gold, silver and all shades in-between rock the Oscar red carpet.

Sandra Bullock dressed the part at Sunday’s Academy Awards: Her slim metallic Marchesa gown was fashioned after the Oscar statuette. The winner of the Best Actress Award led the pack of glam women, who stepped out in shimmering, glittering shades of metal.

“It was the most interesting red carpet in a long time,” said Suze Yalof Schwartz,

magazine’s executive fashion editor-at-large.

“This was about very tasteful, grown-up glamour,” said Sharon Graubard, senior vice president at trend forecasting firm Stylesight.

Gold was a huge trend, with Kate Winslet sporting a sleek gold gown by Yves Saint Laurent. Cameron Diaz, too, wore a gold strapless gown by Oscar de la Renta; Miley Cyrus wore a bustier-style gold number by Jenny Packham; and Sarah Jessica Parker chose a custom yellow Chanel with silver flowers around the bustline.
