1 injured after shootout between gang, cops in Gurgaon; 4 arrested

Four people were later arrested in connection with the shooting.

"We got information that some wanted criminals are roaming in a Santro in sector 10, Gurgaon," ACP (crime) Rajesh Kumar told NDTV. "As the (police) team was trying to catch them, one assailant fired on the team… The team in-charge had a narrow escape and fired in retaliation," Kumar added.

"One of the criminals got an injury on his right leg, while four were captured. No civilian was injured," the ACP said.

This is the second major shooting incident in Gurgaon in the past two months.

An audacious gang shooting in the heart of Gurgaon in July had left an auto driver dead and two critically injured after an SUV crushed an auto while trying to swerve out of the way of a hailstorm of bullets.
