Appointment of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructural Development Corporation (HSIIDC) as the nodal agency for an upcoming airport-cum-cargo air complex at Jhajjar district has set the alarm bells ringing among entrepreneurs of Gurgaon and Manesar. They fear that the industry body will divert the money raised from them for the new project.

Aseem Takyar, who owns industrial plots in Industrial Model Township (IMT) Manesar and Udyog Vihar, has filed an RTI application in this regard asking the HSIIDC how it will generate money for the project.

“HSIIDC raises huge amounts from us in the name of extra development charges (EDC) and enhanced cost of land. All this goes unaccounted for. We have to ensure the money is spent on our welfare and not diverted to projects elsewhere,” said Takyar.
