Minor boy detained in Gurgaon for molesting girl student

A minor, who had been repeatedly harassing girls and allegedly tried to force himself on a girl, was detained by police.
The boy allegedly harassed the girl but could not carry out his assault after the girl, who was returning home after school, protested. He was arrested by the Manesar women police, and sent to observation home in Faridabad after a case was registered against him on Wednesday.
The police said the incident happened on December 19 in Baghanki village, when the minor boy accosted a girl and tried to molest her.
Inspector Poonam Singh, SHO, women police station, said the boy was detained as he was a repeat offender and sent to an observation home. “There were a number of complaints against the boy and we wanted to detain him before he committed a more serious crime. His behaviour can be corrected at the observation home with proper counselling,” Singh said.
In another incident, a person was booked for allegedly harassing a woman, threatening and stalking her. The police booked the accused after he allegedly tried to kiss her and groped her at The Vilas condominium in DLF Phase 2 on Monday.
A case was registered against the accused identified as Neeraj, a resident of the The Vilas on Akashneem Marg. The police said a case under sections 354, 506, 509 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against Neeraj after the woman, who is a resident of east Delhi, complained to police.
In two other incidents which happened near the KR Manglam University on Sohna Road, police booked two youth in separate incidents for harassing and molesting a minor girl and a woman. A man, identified as Emran, was booked under Section 8 of Pocso Act for allegedly molesting a minor girl.
The incident happened on Monday evening near the university and a case was registered at Sohna police station against the accused. An official said the matter is being probed.
In another incident near the university, a case has been registered against unidentified person under sections 323, 354A, and 506 of the IPC for allegedly harassing a woman student of the university. Police said the matter is being probed and the accused would be arrested soon.
“All cases in which women or minor girls are being harassed or targeted in any way is being taken seriously by Gurgaon police. The cases are being registered promptly and action is being taken,” said Ravinder Kumar, PRO, Gurgaon police.
