Mock earthquake drill on July 20

The district administration in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will conduct a mock disaster management drill in the city on July 20. HT reports.

Government officials, representatives of National Disaster Relief Force, RWAs, NGOs, private companies and residents will participate in the event. On the day of the exercise, a siren will be sounded at 11.30am to alert all about an earthquake.

District education officers will send a communiqué to all private and government schools to evacuate students and bring them out in the open at 11.30am. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will provide a Metro train to show how people are evacuated if trains get derailed during earthquakes.
