The development authority is yet to float the sanitation tender for 2012-13 even though the previous contract had expired in March 2012.

The tender was supposed to be floated and awarded in April. This has delayed the hiring of sanitation workers in Huda sectors - 4 to 28 and 31 to 45, besides Expressway (west).

"The contractor hasn't paid us salary for the last three months. How can I work without getting paid?" asked a sanitation worker.

Surprisingly, both the estate officers (1 & 2) - in charge of sanitation in Huda sectors - are clueless as to when the tenders will be floated by Huda.

"We submitted the estimates of 2012-13 nearly a fortnight ago. Now, it is up to the administrator and Haryana government to consider the estimate and give its approval," said an EO not wishing to be named.

Meanwhile, a Huda official said, "the tenders are expected to be floated by November end".
