Victim clicks picture of molestor, helps Gurgaon police nab him
The police circulated the picture of the accused in its network of informers on Wednesday. Within a day, the accused was identified and arrested for allegedly molesting, abusing and thrashing the woman at an eatery on Sohna Road
The vigilance and bravery shown by a victim of sexual harassment, who clicked a picture of the man who had allegedly molested her at an eatery on Sohna road on Tuesday, led to his identification and arrest on Thursday.

The police had filed an FIR against the unknown accused on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim, who is a student of a private university. The incident took place around 4.30pm on Tuesday when the victim was at an eatery, where the accused was also present. He asked for water and allegedly spat near the victim after gargling, this angered the young woman. When the victim objected, he started abusing her. He molested and thrashed her, the complaint read.
The police circulated the picture of the accused in its network of informers on Wednesday. Within a day, the accused was identified and arrested under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code.
“The picture taken by the victim was of great help to us in identifying and arresting the accused. None of the eyewitnesses knew the accused and his motorcycle number was also not available. The accused was arrested on Thursday, and he was also identified by the victim,” sub inspector Meena from the Sohna city police station said.
“We had also procured the CCTV footage but the identity was not very clear,” SI Meena said.
Taking into account the seriousness of the matter, Meena circulated the photo in her network of informers. She also forwarded to other police stations and on social media groups after which a local resident identified the man as a resident of Sohna.
The accused is a student of BA, first year, and pursuing it via correspondence.
