The administration will seek active involvement of young entrepreneurs in order to improve the city, Gurgaon’s new deputy commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh has said.
Singh was promoted as DC on Monday night when the Haryana government reshuffled 22 IAS and 12 HCS officers. A 2011-batch IAS officer, Singh joined Gurgaon as additional deputy commissioner (ADC) in November 2014.
“I will try my best to stand up to the people’s expectations. There are areas of priority that I will try my best to focus on. One such area is mobility that includes good road engineering and the enforcement of law,” said Singh, who has done his early education from Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani Rajasthan.
“I have seen the city for nearly two and a half years. There is an apparent load on the infrastructure due to ever increasing population. This will be my priority to fix the problem,” he said, adding that he will seek active involvement of young entrepreneurs in order to improve city.
He said there are a number of infrastructural gaps in Gurgaon that needed to be fixed at the earliest. Singh said he would focus on computerisation of district administration records, particularly land records for effective functioning.
“He is a young and dynamic officer and best part is that he has been in the city for two three years. Gurgaon needs better transport, traffic management, proper water and electricity supply. It remains to be seen how he handles the challenges,” said Ram Bir Singh, a resident Sector 14.
Dr Narhari Bangar, a 1999 batch HCS officer, will join Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) as additional commissioner in a couple of days. Bangar presently is additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Jhajhar. He was a city magistrate in Gurgaon six months ago.
“My aim is improve sanitation system of the city. The city needs better waste disposal system and sewage treatment as well,” said Bangar.
Pradeep Dahiya, a senior IAS officer, who presently was posted as SDO in Ellanabad, is to join Gurgaon as ADC.
