From avoiding wearing closed shoes and pedicure to keeping your feet moisturised, we give your five tips on maintaing clean and healthy feet in the rainy season.
Avoid wearing closed shoes: By wearing closed shoes, you increase the amount of moisture your feet are exposed to. This then makes you prone to those pesky fungal infections. Wear open-toed shoes to keep your feet dry. Also, never wear wet shoes.
Keep Your feet clean: Make sure you wash your feet every day after you return home. Get that grime and mud off your soles with gentle warm water and a mild soap daily. Rub your heels with pumice stone. Dry the area between your toes and apply an anti-fungal powder daily. Also avoid long nails as they attracts dirt and bacteria.
Avoid pedicure: Pedicures done at salons often put you at risk of getting foot infections. It’s better avoided in rains. If you absolutely must get one, make sure to bring your own instruments.
Avoid walking barefoot: When you walk without chappals on wet floors, you can easily pick up infections and allergy in the monsoon season. So, always remember to wear your flip-flops.
Moisturise: Before you hit the bed, apply moisturiser on your feet. This will help you get rid of the dead skin.
