Things to keep in mind before donating blood:

Pulse wise: Before donating blood do ensure that you check your pulse rate. An abnormal pulse rate can be indicative of some disease, so ask your doctor.

Blood pressure: You should have a doctor check your blood pressure too. In certain cases of hypertension, it is advised to refrain from donating blood. Also share your treatment history with your doctor. If you are on certain medications, blood donations may not be advisable.

Iron intake: Check your haemoglobin levels. Lower levels indicate iron deficiency. Also have iron rich meals to ensure you are fit to donate blood.

Counsel well: Attend counselling sessions to ensure that your blood is fit for donation.
