Leela Devi, 38, a housewife from Laxman Vihar, was admitted at Artemis Health Sciences with dengue on September 25. "It all started with high fever, stomach ache and vomiting. I couldn't eat anything. I had to live only on fluids," said Leela. From a blood platelet count of 1,12,000, Leela is today recovering from a low count of 31 platelets.
"Her condition was so bad that the doctor told us look out for blood donors. We don't know when she will be discharged," said Daulat Singh Rana, Leela's husband.
When Leela first went a doctor in Sector 4, she was told that she had viral fever. "The doctor told me to go for blood tests and the reports revealed my platelet count. He suggested that I be shifted to Artemis," said Leela.
