Adam steps into Eve’s shoes
Hollywood funnyman says playing a girl in his latest flick was not an easy task. This time he has happily got his body shaved, voice modulated and donned mini skirts to play his own twin sister, Jill, in the laugh riot, Jack & Jill.
Actor Adam Sandler has gone to lengths no other actor would dare for a role. This time, too, he has happily got his body shaved, voice modulated and donned mini skirts to play his own twin sister, Jill, in the laugh riot, Jack & Jill.
“The biggest thought was putting the costume on… I’m not bragging… There were times I put the outfit on, and I’d look in the mirror and say, ‘All right, let’s go out there and be a lady’,” says the 45-year-old, who took inspiration for the character from his family members.
“It’s just a mixture of all the Sandler family, and hopefully when they see the movie they’ll all stop talking to me,” he says.
Ask if he also brought their looks and style on-screen with Jill, the comedian says, “My family’s all more attractive than I look as Jill. What I saw was someone possibly in college I woke up with.”
Sandler is also all praise for his co-star Katie Holmes, who plays his wife in the flick. “She is a very funny and light girl… My wife and Katie became friends and we went out to dinner a few times. Katie’s daughter (Suri) and my kids hung out, and it was amazing,” says Sandler, who also convinced veteran actor Al Pacino to display his funny side in the movie.
