Shortly after Shelton kicked off the event, John Stamos became the first A-lister to get slimed as he innocently sat in the audience, reports Us Weekly.

The 52-year-old Fuller House actor, was a good sport as he laughed off the sticky moment after wiping his head on Jace Norman.

Jason Sudeikis and Josh Gad were also on the receiving end of the neon goo, just after they released a new clip of their upcoming film, The Angry Birds Movie, which also features a voice cameo by host Blake Shelton.

This 29th edition of the awards opened with Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas performances.

Other performers included DNCE, Silento, Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa.

Stars who presented or made special appearances during the show included Anthony Anderson, Will Arnett, Rowan Blanchard, Dove Cameron, Sabrina Carpenter, Cameron Dallas, Ellen DeGeneres, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Megan Fox, Sarah Hyland, Laura Marano, Amy Poehler, Debby Ryan, Adam Sandler, Meghan Trainor and Zendaya and more.
