Despicable Me 2 continues to dominate global box office
Gru and his minions are still soaring above the box-office competition worldwide, having brought in $60.46 million on Sunday, July 21, according to Rentrak. In cinemas across 51 territories, Despicable Me 2, continues to stand out as the leading crowd magnet. The feature-length animated film has brought in a total of $584.56 million to date.
The giant robots in, Pacific Rim, are hanging on to second place with earnings of $50.76 million. Just behind Guillermo del Toro's action film is James Wan's, The Conjuring, which saw a knockout success upon release, bringing in $44.93 million across just three territories.
Turbo is in fourth place this week with $44.10 million. The animated film follows the adventures of a tiny snail with a need for speed.
