Dunkirk: Here’s how much Christopher Nolan’s war epic made at the Indian box office

Christopher Nolan’s World War II epic, Dunkirk, opened with Rs 7 crore at the box office in its first two days of release in India.

Christopher Nolan’s World War II epic, Dunkirk, debuted at the number 1 spot at the box office in most of its 46 territories. The film’s worldwide total stands at $105 million. In India, the film made Rs 7 crore in the first two days of release.

According to Box Office India, Dunkirk, based on Operation Dynamo, an Allied-led evacuation of more than 400,000 troops from the seaside French town of Dunkirk, made Rs 3 crore on Friday, and another Rs 4 crore on Saturday.

The film opened to enthusiastic reviews, and stronger box office numbers than were initially expected. Nolan’s films, according to Box Office Mojo, have historically shown strong holds. Experts are predicting a US total of over $150 million (which is also how much it cost to produce).
