The makers of Fast & Furious 8 have created a great new feature: The This Week on the set of #F8 videos take the audience behind-the-scenes of the latest film, neatly wrapping up the events of the week. And this week’s edition is a special one. The entire cast, old and new, came together for the first time to film their scenes.
It’s no secret that the cast and crew of Fast & Furious is a lot like family. They’ve been making these movies for more than a decade and the series only gets bigger with each film.
For Fast & Furious 8, they’ve brought in Straight Outta Compton director F Gary Gray to take the helm of the ship. After starting production in Cuba, becoming the first major American movie to shoot in the country after President Obama lifted sanctions, the production has now headed to the Universal soundstages.
Franchise veterans Vin Diesel, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson are joined by relative newcomers Kurt Russell, Jason Statham and Nathalie Emmanuel and debutant Scott Eastwood. However, the new villain, played by Charlize Theron is nowhere to be seen in this week’s video.
