Two time Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank has suffered another blow to her career. After Amelia and Conviction, her latest film, The Resident has been declared a flop.Updated: Jan 09, 2011 13:48 IST
The Million Dollar Baby star's 2009 Amelia Earhart bio-pic Amelia, grossed just over USD 19 million worldwide, less than half its USD 40 million production budget.
Meanwhile, her film Conviction released last year about a woman's fight to free her brother from prison, won the 36-year-old actress a nomination at the upcoming Screen Actors Guild awards but was given a limited release in the US and has garnered less than USD 7 million.
And now movie bosses have decided her new thriller, The Resident won't be given a theatrical release in America, Contactmusic reported.
The film, which co-stars Christopher Lee and Jeffrey Dean Morgan tells the story of a young doctor who fears she is being stalked after moving into a new apartment.
The film will be given a home release in America, while there are plans to open The Resident in cinemas in Britain.
