Teen actor Darsheel Safary is excited about Canada-based Indian filmmaker Deepa Mehta’s movie, Midnight’s Children. The young actor says its the first time he is “doing a film of this kind”.
A big screen adaptation of author Salman Rushdie’s bestseller of the same name, the cast of Midnight’s Children boasts of names such as Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Seema Biswas, Shahana Goswami, Rahul Bose and Soha Ali Khan. “I have shot for Midnight’s Children. It should release by the end of this year. I am very, very excited about my character because this is the first time I am doing a film of this kind,” says the 16-year-old.
Darsheel, who debuted with Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par (2007), is right now focusing on his studies.
Talking about balancing his academics and work schedule, Darsheel says, “I’m busy with my studies right now. But whenever something intresting comes up, my parents decide.” Darsheel was last seen in a dance reality show.
