From Bollywood to romancing younger beauties, actor Anil Kapoor talks about his Hollywood venture
After three decades in Bollywood, actor Anil Kapoor is now “international”, and does not want old tags such as ‘Jhakaas’ to be tugged along his new image. Talking about his Hollywood calling with actor-anchor Preity Zinta on her show, the 51-year-old actor said, “It all began with Danny Boyle even though I heard many actors turned down Slumdog; some actors even refused to acknowledge Danny’s repeated calls or messages. I took up the role and from then there has been no looking back. And now its Mission Impossible. Though, I have a small cameo in the film, I am sure that over a period of time I will make it to the bigger roles.”
Talking about the perks of being part of Hollywood, Kapoor joked and said, “It gives me a chance to romance younger women, take for example Paula Patton, who is 23, and I am starred opposite her in Mission Impossible. Also, now I wish to marry at least two-three more women and flirt with many.”
On the peak of his acting career now, Kapoor did not have the same plans for his three children. But now that daughter Sonam Kapoor has already made a mark in Bollywood, he said, “I didn’t want my daughter to go through what I had to. But now she’s here and I have no other option but to accept her choice.”
On her show, Up, Close and Personal with PZ on UTV Stars, when Preity asked him what he would be if he wasn’t a actor, he said, “I have always wanted to be an anchor on television. So I would do that. And I was to be reborn again I would love to be Anna Hazare.”
