Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will roam the set alongside Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, who already played younger versions of Magneto and Professeur Xavier in X-Men: First Class.

That film, released in 2011, was set in the 1960s and featured Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Rebecca Romijn (Mystique as an adult).

Bryan Singer also announced the comebacks of Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence, who respectively portrayed The Beast and the younger version of Mystique in First Class. Production of X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled for next year, with Fox Studios looking at a launch in July 2014.
