Leonardo DiCaprio to visit India in October

Star Leonardo DiCaprio will visit India in October to profile Sunita Narain and be part of a new documentary on global warming.

New Delhi is one of the world’s most polluted cities. Leonardo DiCaprio is a crusader for the cause of global warming. This month, the star will visit New Delhi as part of a new documentary film.

DiCaprio previously was a part of a similarly themed documentary called The 11th Hour, which he produced and narrated.. He will be in the city on October 29, for four days, to profile Sunita Narain. Narain, a Padma Shree awardee, is currently the director general of the CSE, the director of the Society for Environmental Communications, and publisher of environmental magazine Down To Earth.

Narain told The Indian Express, ““I have been in touch with the filmmakers for the past year about their plans to make a film on climate change. They wanted me to particularly talk about our concerns about the need for ambition and equity in climate negotiations. They have just informed me that they will be in Delhi on October 29 and 30th and will come over to CSE for a sit down interview.”

DiCaprio gained worldwide fame after starring in 1997’s blockbuster hit Titanic. His work with directors like Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan would later catapult him towards stardom.

DiCaprio played an amoral billionaire in 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street but his philanthropic efforts through his foundation have raised millions for a number of relevant causes.
