Day 10 of the ongoing 66th Cannes film festival saw the premiere of American filmmaker James Gray’s highly anticipated flick, The Immigrant, which was attended by actor Uma Thurman, along with the film’s cast.

The period drama revolves around a Polish woman who fights to survive in 1920s New York.
The day also saw the screening of the film, Michael Kohlhaas, by French director Arnaud des Pallieres, which is about a horse trader in 16th century France who takes up arms against a corrupt lord.
Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulof, jailed in 2010 for anti-regime propaganda, appeared in the fest for the screening of a new film, the secretly-made censorship drama, Manuscripts Don’t Burn.
Lastly, a tribute to French cinematographer Philippe Rousselot also took place at the festival.
