Sandra Bullock is eyeing the part of the child-hating matron of the orphanage where the little redhead eventually becomes a billionaire's protégée. The actress is still in talks to join the billing alongside Jamie Foxx and child actress Quvenzhané Wallis, the revelation of Beasts of the Southern Wild, for this hip hop-heavy musical produced by Will Smith and Jay-Z.
Will Gluck (Friends with Benefits) will direct Annie this fall for a theatrical release in 2014.
Inspired by the Broadway musical that opened in 1977 and was based in turn on the comic strip Little Orphan Annie, Annie was also adapted for the silver screen in 1982 by the late great John Huston.
